Operator / Engineer (M/F)

This role is based at our barley intake and storage facility in Mendlesham. As part of a small team the role is varied responsible for both operating the equipment and plant required to intake, store, and outload barley. In addition the role will support the site with electrical engineering skills.
The operator must adhere to good manufacturing practices and have an acute awareness of Health and Safety demonstrating behaviours that considers their own safety and that of others. Duties include controlling the plant using a loading shovel, working in the weighbridge and laboratory and any maintenance work is performed safely.
There may be a requirement to work at height and in confined spaces.
The person we are looking for is self motivated, proactive and has high standards of work.
The post holder must have experience of operating plant and certified electrical engineering skills. Awareness, experience and compliance with statutory H&S Regulations, is essential.
Candidates with experience in the food or malting industries and knowledge of associated standards required in respect of food hygiene and relevant ISO certification are preferred. Candidates who are familiar heavy engineering or similar environments will also be considered.
Competence in using a computerised maintenance management systems is an advantage.
