The Boortmalt Group is a fully owned subsidiary of Axereal, Europe’s largest grain cooperative. The company is one of the largest industrial malts producers in the world and employs 300 people. From 10 locations in Europe, Boortmalt produces 1.1 million tons of malt per year, of which 50% is exported to developing markets outside of Europe. In addition, approximately 50% of the total European malt export passes through the Port of Antwerp, making Antwerp the malt capital of Europe, and Boortmalt its logistic heart. The customers are large international brewers and distillers as well as smaller local breweries all over the world.

Job

- Work with Group Craft Manager to develop and implement the BNL Craft
strategy (incorporating relevant market research and intelligence) and to
define the pricing and marketing strategy.
- Define and contribute to brand building for the BNL craft business unit
- Define and set up the marketing & communication strategy as well as
actions deriving therefrom.
- Define the product strategy: (which SKU’s, what form, which packaging
and what services) taking account of the technical constraints.
- Develop, set up and lead appropriate actions to develop the business and
customer relationships (website development, brochures, events, fairs,
discounts and incentives, services)
- Set and agree annual operating budgets and monitor ongoing
performance
- Take responsibility for and lead Craft services to include CRM, technical
services, assistance and troubleshooting.
- Work in synergy with Group functions.
- Assist as necessary the roll-out of a Craft business initiative across other
geographies and in particular exports from the Belgium.
- Assist the Operations team to maximise malt quality in line with the
potential of the malting barley crop, as measured by micro malting analysis.
- Work with the local operations teams to ensure effective packaging, stock
management and quality control of deliveries
- Look to implement and oversee effective logistics/transport contractual
arrangements as required for the Craft Business
- Define, set up, track and optimise our KPI drivers to always satisfy the
KPI drivers in the brewery/distillery - in line with our business objectives.
- Review and report against KPI variances.

Profile

Qualifications: Graduate in appropriate discipline. Brewing knowledge or a relevant qualification is essential.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a production process control environment ideally within a brewing or wine and spirits industry. Strong Knowledge in Marketing/communication and sales strategy development. A proven track record in Customer Relationship Management is required.

Language / IT : Fluent English, French and Dutch. Normal Office applications plus ideally experience with social media and use of website/on-line shop functionality.
